Quarter 3 Fly Closer Reflection

Care is very important in our organization and it is something that we take vary seriously.  Over the past quarter there has been many instances were I had care for our community our team and the SOC.  One of these times came was as a team we went to support our coaches son and his team at the rec basketball league.  As a team we cheered them on and introduced ourselves to the players and their parents at the end of the game.  Throughout the season there is many times that we care for our own team.  The time that we did this was when one of our players had a tough lose in his family.  We went to the visitation to support the player and the coach during that time. In this quarter I have also helped With things in the SOC such as selling tickets for winter formal at lunch.  I sold tickets two days at lunch with another member from the SOC.  With this we raised 3000 dollars for the SOC  All of these are examples of how we have cared for both our community and our team over the past quarter.  These experiences have been very beneficial as when we went to the basketball game we supported kids that may one day be a future baseball player.  Through that time we also showed the community how we care about other s though out it.  Supporting our players is also an important factor because it builds team relationships.  Doing things like this also have an impact on their life as something that they will never forget. 

Connect is a big part in success as you have to stay connected with your community organization and the people around you.  Over the past quarter I have connected with my organization by helping with practices.  I have also helped with the SOC class by hosting a Genius bar, organizing the spring legacy day, and developing a spring sports day.  Helping out with our team in practices has been very important as we have lots of new members that have never played baseball.  Being at practice and helping them one on one helps them develope their skill, but also developes a relationship and connection that will keep them coming out and possibly influence new players to come out along wiith them.  Connecting with the other SOC members has been important to as we are getting big projects accomplished.  One of these projects that I am working on with Coach whitehouse and ashley is the sppring legacy day.  This event is essential to make sure that our upcoming SOC members no what they are going to do in the class.  It also gives a chance for the new members to connect with the old members about things that can be accomplished for the upcoming year.  Connecting with the community is also an important factor.  I have been doing this by helping Coach Whitehouse organize a spring sports day.  The spring sports day will bring many sport communities together and will unite the community.  One thing that I need to work on is our organizations communtiy partner.  COntact has been vague over the past weeks as the one that we were assigned has not responded.  I will improve this by partnering with one of the other organizations with their community partner.  Connecting is a big factor in what we do and it make sure that everything works effieciently and effectively.

Creating things in your organization is an important part in making sure that your organization is growing for the better.  This also applies to the SOC class because as we create new ideas we are expanding on the idea of what SOC is.  Things over the past quarter that we have completed in baseball is a practice jobs sheet and ball park dj.  The practice jobs was a great success as it has everyone doing something after a game and it keeps everyone involved.  The ball park dj which hasn made its debut yet will enhance the experience of the players playing baseball and also the experience that the fans get from the game.  Over all it makes our baseball team look more official.  One thing that I wish that we had completed over the past qaurter was a community service project.  This would have been  great bonding experience for our team and we would have reached out to the community.  Next quarter I will try to reach out to our community partner and try to work out a service project that both works with there schedule and ours.  Throughout the SOC I have also been creating things.   One of those things is with Mr whitehouse and it is the legacy day.  This will be an success as it will introduce to the new upcoming members to what the SOC is.  I am still working with Mr Whitehouse and also Ashley on developing slides and all the games that we people will particpaite in at the legacy day.  Create has been a huge success in our program this year as it has helped our program develope for the better.  As the baseball representative for SOC I have to continue to create things so that baseball continues to grow.
